I got my start waterfowl hunting in the early 90’s with my dad and grandfather. I loved listening to the stories of hunting canvasbacks on the Chesapeake Bay and just the life in general as told by my grandfather. I was an avid “weekend warrior” through high school and was known to take off early or come in late through the fall and winter, spending the mornings chasing ducks on the local marshes. I got my first dog, a female black lab, after I graduated which started my love for retriever training. After hitting the work force and realizing “inside” just wasn’t my thing, I decided to start my own business sharing everything I love with as many people as possible. Goose Creek Outfitters & Retrievers was the product thereafter and we’ve been chasing ducks, deer and training gun dogs ever since. Now any given day through the fall I can be found with a shotgun, camera and a good lab posted up in a marsh with a lanyard adorned with the finest from Pacific Calls.

I am an avid outdoorsmen from Kearney, Nebraska. I grew up waterfowling and turkey hunting on the Platte River and this quickly grew into a passion for the outdoors. It even led me to a degree in Wildlife Biology and I am currently pursuing my Masters degree at the University of Nebraska Kearney. I enjoy just about anything outdoors and try to out as often as I can. I have a 3 year old yellow lab named Drake an he is never far from my side. I am also active in the Ducks Unlimited community and a firm believer in conservation.

Born and raised in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin. I currently reside near Appleton, WI. I did not grow up a hunter but always dreamed of the opportunity. It wasn’t until 6 years ago when I met my wife and her family that I was given that chance. After my first hunt I was hooked, a year later I went on my first duck hunt and it was game over, my life has revolved around waterfowl hunting ever since. We are truly blessed in this part of the state to experience great field hunting, marsh hunting and layout boat hunting on Lake Michigan. As a photographer, I struggle with the decision between picking up the shotgun, call or the camera.

Growing up hunting in Southern California at the bottom of the pacific flyway presents great challenges. It taught me that if you hunt hard and put the time in, it doesn’t matter where you are, success will come. After moving to Bozeman, Montana there was one thing on my mind, mallard ducks and giant Canada geese. The scenery around Bozeman and the numerous warm water springs and open wheat fields provides for great hunting and even better photo opportunities, which is why I never go to the blind without my camera! Once waterfowl season ends, it’s time to fish. During the summers, you will catch me on the prestigious rivers nearby chasing big rainbow and brown trout on the fly, only waiting for October to roll around again.
